Physical Rubber prices witnessed gains on Wednesday due to a severe supply crunch caused by extreme weather in major producing regions, while higher production costs of petroleum-based synthetic rubber further boosted natural rubber demand.

Spot prices for the RSS-4 variety rose to Rs 281.50/kg to its previous closing of Rs 281/kg; while the RSS-5 variety gained to Rs 276.50/kg to its previous closing of Rs 276/kg.
