During event organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has expressed confidence that India would achieve $1 trillion in exports of goods and services during the current fiscal (FY27) despite a challenging global economic environment.

The minister noted that India recorded highest-ever exports in FY 2025-26 reaching a record $863.1 billion, with merchandise exports reaching $441.8 billion and services exports expanding further to $421.3 billion, reflecting the combined strength of India’s merchandise and services sectors in driving export growth.

He further said ‘the world is building walls and India is building bridges’, and added that the 9 free trade agreements (FTAs) finalised by India will provide huge business opportunities for exporters. He suggested industry chamber CII to set up FTA utilisation cells in states. He added that the trade pacts provide export opportunities for agriculture as well as marine goods.
