09 Oct 2026 Evaluate

Snaping its two-day losing streak, Indian equity benchmark -- Nifty ended higher with gains of over a percent on Friday. Index made a positive start and continued to trade firm till the end of the session. The global crude oil prices fell as West Asia supply concerns eased after US President Donald Trump indicated that US will not attack Iran before midterm elections next month and is engaged in productive talks to end their war that has disrupted the markets. Besides, value buying following the recent losses made by the market supported investor sentiment. Meanwhile, the Indian rupee appreciated against the US dollar, aided by a slight weakening of the greenback and likely intervention by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Finally, Nifty ended above 22,500 mark.

Most of the sectorial indices ended in green except Oil & Gas stocks. The top gainers from the F&O segment were Inox Wind, Persistent Systems and GMR Airports. On the other hand, the top losers were Anand Rathi Wealth, Siemens Energy India and Avenue Supermarts. In the index option segment, maximum OI continues to be seen in the 23400 - 23600 calls and 23400 - 23600 puts indicating this is the trading range expectation.
