15 Oct 2026 Evaluate

Indian equity benchmark -- Nifty ended higher with gains of over one and half percent on Thursday as optimism surrounding the ongoing quarterly earnings season, ease in US bond yields and decline in crude oil prices. Index made a positive start and continued its optimistic trades throughout the session, driven by a rally in TECK, IT and Auto stocks. Sentiments were upbeat with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra's statement that recent RBI measures, including the creation of a special dollar window for oil marketing companies (OMCs), aim to ensure orderly movements in the foreign exchange market and curb undue speculative activity. Besides, there were encouragements in markets as external Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has said negotiations on the India-US trade deal were heading towards a ‘landing point’, with officials from both countries working to iron out outstanding issues. Finally, Nifty ended near 23,000 mark.

Most of the sectorial indices ended in green led by Private Bank, IT and Auto stocks. The top gainers from the F&O segment were Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, HDFC Asset Management Company and Tech Mahindra. On the other hand, the top losers were Yes Bank, Nestle India and Siemens Energy India. In the index option segment, maximum OI continues to be seen in the 23400 - 23600 calls and 21900 - 22100 puts indicating this is the trading range expectation.
