A firm trade persisted over the Dalal Street in early afternoon session, on the back of positive cues from other Asian markets. Both indices maintained their positive momentum, with the Nifty outperforming the Sensex. The rally was largely driven by earnings-led buying in IT counters. Market participants remained watchful of global cues, crude oil prices and ongoing corporate earnings announcements.
