Copper futures trade higher in early deals of Monday

19 Oct 2026 Evaluate
Copper futures were trading higher in early deals of Monday as investors pared expectations for another Federal Reserve rate hike this month, following Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's opening remarks at the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group in Bangkok. Copper prices were further boosted by softer oil prices following US President Donald Trump’s decision to waive sanctions and tariffs on Russia, while tightening copper supplies offered additional support.

Copper futures for December delivery gained $0.0450 or 0.68% at $6.6185 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
