Gold futures finish lower on hawkish Fed bets

23 Oct 2026 Evaluate

Gold futures finished lower on Thursday, as the massive energy rake spike spurred acute global inflation fears and intensified expectations of interest rates hike by central banks. Additionally, stronger dollar and rising bond yield notes saddled yellow metal investments.

Gold futures for December delivery down by $89.60 or 2.15% to settle at $ 4,060.40 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold dipped by $16.54 or 0.41% to $ 4,008.31 an ounce.
