26 Oct 2026 Evaluate

Bond yields traded marginally higher on Monday as oil prices retreated following a three-session rally and US Treasuries advanced.

In the global market, U.S. Treasury yields rose Friday but remained near the previous day’s lows as investors sought safety from the turmoil in French government bonds ahead of a closely watched interest-rate decision. Furthermore, Oil prices fell on Monday after surging last week to near six-month highs, amid hopes of easing hostilities between the United States and Iran, although persistent attacks on key producer Saudi Arabia kept investors wary.

Back home, the yields on new 10-year Government Stock were trading 1 basis point higher at 7.48% from its previous close of 7.47% on Friday.

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading 2 basis points higher at 7.37% from its previous close of 7.35% on Friday.
