Soyabean production shows rising trend in last 2 years

The production of soyabean in the country has shown increasing trends during last 2 years, as per information provided by Tariq Anwar, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Industries.

As per 4th advanced estimates for 2012-13, soyabean has been sown in an area of 108.4 lakh hectares with production of 146.8 lakh tonnes. Similarly, as per first advanced estimates for 2013-14, soyabean has been sown in an area of 121.0 lakh hectares with production of 156.8 lakh tonnes.

In 2010-11, soyabean has been sown in an area of 96.0 lakh hectares with production of 127.4 lakh tonnes while in 2011-12, soyabean has been sown in an area of 101.1 lakh hectares with production of 122.1 lakh tonnes.
