Physical rubber showed some uptrend on Tuesday on comparatively better demand in the market. However, a weak closing in domestic futures dampened sentiments during late trading hours restricted the upside of rubber prices.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety remained unchanged at Rs 153.50/kg, while RSS-5 variety improved to 145.50/kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 145/ kg.
In the futures market, contract of January delivery declined to Rs 157.50 compared to its previous close of Rs 158.54, while February delivery closed at Rs 159.80 compared to its previous closing of Rs 161.01 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
