Physical rubber prices improved on Friday on covering purchases due to lower supplies from the major producing belts.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety improved to Rs 163/kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 162/kg, while RSS-5 variety closed at Rs 155/kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 153/kg.
In the futures market, contract of January delivery weakened to Rs 165.54 compared to its previous closing of Rs 166.25, while February delivery closed at Rs 168.00 compared to its previous closing of Rs 168.76 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
