Ambuja Cements shipments in November surged 29.31 percent from a year ago to 18.31 lakh tonnes. The company, in which Swiss cement maker Holcim holds about 46 percent, reported rise in production by 26.24 percent to 18.14 lakh tonnes in November from 14.37 lakh tonnes a year earlier.
Cumulative despatches of the company during the January- November period jumped by 4 percent to 190.28 lakh tones against 182.97 lakh tones during the corresponding period a year ago. The company’s shipments in October rose 1.66 percent from a year ago to 17.81 lakh tonnes.
The company’s net profit for the september quarter surged by 12.75% at Rs 171.48 crore as compared to Rs 152.09 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Company’s total Income increased by 17.18% at Rs 1890.77 crore for the third quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 1613.56 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
