Britannia Industries’ Delhi unit has bagged the CII National Award for Food Safety 2011, in recognition of the company's commitment to suppliers and vendors. CII Award was started 17 years ago to promote excellence in business and to encourage SMBs. In 2001, CII decided to include healthcare and food safety and give awards under these categories.
Other companies who won commendations included Bosch, Bharat Heavy Electricals, NSE, L&T Komatsu, Apollo Hospitals, and others.
The company’s net profit for the quarter has rose 18.76% at Rs 37.85 crore as compared to Rs 31.87 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company’s total income has increased by 17.83% at Rs 1305.18 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 1107.70 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Britannia, one of the India’s biggest brands, has a market share of 33%. More-than-a-century old Britannia has launched big brands in FMCG Segment. The company is expanding its customer base by launching new products and renovating existing ones.
