Torrent Pharmaceuticals’ has received an approval of US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its generic of AstraZeneca’s hypertension drug Plendil. The approval is for 2.5 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg strengths of Felodipine extended release tablets to be sold on prescription basis.
Felodipine is a calcium channel blocker (calcium antagonist), a drug used to control high blood pressure.
