Physical rubber prices showed some weakness on Thursday due to selling pressure from dealers and growers who feared further fall in prices. Further, absence of buyers in the markets too influenced rubber prices.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety declined to 151/kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 152/kg, while RSS-5 variety remained unchanged at Rs 144/kg.
In the futures market, contract of February delivery declined to Rs 151.85 compared to its previous close of Rs 163.16, while March delivery closed at Rs 153.93 compared to its previous closing of Rs 155.56 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
