The January currency futures were trading at 61.7150 with a spread of 0.0050 and a volume of 202447. The contract opened weaker at 61.7125 compared to its previous closing of 61.6325. The open interest (OI) stood at 480,820 down by 2.01% compared to its previous closer of 490702.
The rupee had closed at 61.55 on Friday, while the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) reference rate stood at 61.3518.
