Coal India reports production of 47.38 million tonnes in January 2014

Coal India, the world’s largest coal miner by output, has reported provisional production of 47.38 million tonnes in January 2014, as against target of 49.44 million tonnes. The company’s total off-take for the month of January stood at 44.44 million tonnes as against a target of 47.24 million tonnes.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
