Physical rubber prices improved on Wednesday following the Kerala Government’s decision to procure rubber from growers at a price that will be Re 1 higher than the price fixed by the Rubber Board. The procurement will continue till the price touches Rs 171 a kg for the RSS 4 grade.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety improved to Rs 145/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 142.50/ kg, while RSS-5 variety closed at Rs 143/ kg compared to its previous close of Rs 140.50/ kg.
In the futures market, contract of February delivery improved to Rs 146.10 compared to its previous closing of Rs 144.53, while March delivery closed at Rs 148.25 compared to its previous close of Rs 146.85 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
