Physical rubber prices declined on Thursday following sharp declines in the domestic and international futures and the ambiguity regarding the procurement of rubber from growers.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety declined to Rs 143/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 145/ kg, while RSS-5 variety closed at Rs 142/ kg compared to its previous close of Rs 143/ kg.
In the futures market, contract of February delivery dropped to Rs 143.25 compared to its previous closing of Rs 146.11, while March delivery closed at Rs 145.31 compared to its previous close of Rs 148.30 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
