Kotak Mahindra (International) has reportedly bought 10.22 lakh shares of V-Mart Retail through open market route. The shares were purchased on an average price of Rs 300 valuing the transaction to Rs 30.68 crore. Further, Citigroup Global Markets Mauritius has also bought 7.18 lakh shares of the company for an average price of Rs 299.97 through open market route. On the other hand, Antique Sectrade has sold 5 lakh shares of the company for an average price of Rs 300 through open market route.
V-Mart Retail is one of the pioneers in setting up stores across various small Indian towns and cities including Sultanpur, Ujjain, Motihari. The company primarily operates in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, with a chain of ‘value retail’ departmental stores offering apparels, general merchandise and kirana, catering to the entire family. Based in New Delhi, the company operations are spread across northern, western and eastern parts of India.
