GMDC inches up on inking JV pact for fluorspar beneficiation project

Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) is currently trading at Rs. 175.25, up by 0.15 points or 0.09% from its previous closing of Rs. 175.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 173.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 175.95 and Rs. 173.95 respectively. So far 7,340 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 194.00 on 07-Sep-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 101.70 on 10-Feb-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 184.80 and Rs. 167.85 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 5,572.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 19.15% and 6.85% respectively.

Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation has entered into a Joint Venture (JV) agreement with Gujarat Fluorochemicals and Navin Florine International for fluorspar beneficiation project. The JV will be in the form of a separate company in which GMDC will own 50% equity.

GMDC is engaged in business of mining and mineral processing. The company manufactures two grades of fluorspar namely acid and metallurgical. It owns two bauxite reserve located at Kutch and Jamnagar.
