BASF has unveiled research and development (R&D) centre in Thane in effort to move 50% of its research outside Europe by 2020. The company has invested $2 million for setting up this R&D centre.
The R&D facility will focus on organic synthesis, advanced process and formulation research, discovery chemistry for modern agricultural solutions, and molecular modelling. It will also accommodate more than 60 scientists in the first phase.
BASF recently established an Agronomical Research and Development Field Station in Pune, near Mumbai, forits agricultural business.
