Idea Cellular launches 5.5-inch 3G smartphone ULTRA II for Rs 12,500

Idea Cellular, one of the biggest cellular carrier of the country has launched a 3G-enabled smartphone, ULTRA II with a 5.5-inch screen, at a price of Rs 12,500. The ULTRA II has a 5.5-inch screen an 8 MP rear camera with HDR and 2 MP front camera with LED flash. This new dual-SIM smartphone has a 1.3 GHz quad core processor and runs Android Jelly Bean 4.2. The phone is powered by a 2500 mAh battery.

The company has also launched an 1GHz dual core entry-level 3G smartphone Idea !d 1000, with the latest Android Jellybean 4.2 OS with fast download speed and sufficient internal storage capacity. This new phone has a 2MP camera and an internal memory of 4GB, expandable to 32 GB. It is priced at Rs 5,400.

Idea Cellular, an AV Birla group company, provides Global System for Mobile communications (GSM)-based wireless service at the pan-India level, it is present in all 22 telecom circles. The company has added 15.32 lakh new mobile subscribers in January, 2014. Following the addition, the company’s total subscriber count stood at 13.02 crore with a market share of 18.51%.
