Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Shazia Ilmi put to rest on any differences existing between the AAP and herself over her decision to not contest from Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, in the 2014 general elections.

Shazia Ilmi said that whatever she had written on Twitter was just to express her thoughts as to why she was not contesting from Rae Bareli and that it did not amount to being a rebellion. She added that she had the freedom to express her disagreement and that she had no idea or whereabouts on Rae Bareli. When there was talk of contesting the Rae Bareli seat, she even offered to campaign on behalf of Ashish Khaitan, as he is a good journalist. Due to family reasons, she could not move or shift to another place.

Ilmi expressed hope that if the party wanted her to contest in Delhi, she would be more than happy to oblige as a true blue soldier of the AAP and also added that she has a special bonding with the people of Delhi. Hence, she was looking forward to contesting from there, as she had already contested the Assembly polls from the R.K. Puram seat. She has various things to do for the party, and she would always be ready to campaign for all the candidates of the AAP as a true fighter.
