Bharti Airtel is reportedly planning to form network infrastructure sharing pact with six other GSM biggies serving the Africa and Middle East markets, to provide Internet and mobile broadband access to unserved rural communities and drive down mobile services delivery costs for all sections of the population in these regions.
The move comes after the top-level meeting of senior leaders of Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Orange, MTN, Etisalat, Zain and Ooredoo groups concluded at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Bharti Airtel is a leading integrated telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa. The company ranks amongst the top 5 mobile service providers globally in terms of subscribers.
