Physical rubber prices declined on Thursday as the market lost its steam in the absence of follow-up buying from major consuming industries. The commodity spot prices slipped further in tune with the declines in domestic futures on the National Multi Commodity Exchange.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety declined to Rs 148.50/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 149.50/ kg, while RSS-5 variety closed at Rs 145/ kg compared to its previous close of Rs 146/ kg.
In the futures market, contract of April delivery declined to Rs 148.40 compared to its previous closing of Rs 149.89, while May delivery closed at Rs 151.59 compared to its previous close of Rs 152.90 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
