Alstom T&D inches up on bagging contract worth Euro 22.75 million from PGCIL

Alstom T&D is currently trading at Rs. 249.15, up by 2.35 points or 0.95% from its previous closing of Rs. 246.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 255.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 255.00 and Rs. 244.00 respectively. So far 22519 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 251.00 on 31-Mar-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 110.00 on 06-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 251.00 and Rs. 221.35 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 6365.32 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 16.62% and 8.38% respectively.

Alstom T&D India and Alstom Grid UK has won a Euro 22.75 million (Rs 182 crore) contract from Power grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) to supply and refurbish High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) converter transformers. These transformers will strengthen the 1000 MW HVDC station at Bhadrawati in Maharashtra, India, which interconnects and moves surplus power from West India to South India.

The turnkey contract includes designing, engineering, manufacturing, refurbishing, erection and commissioning of HVDC converter transformers (234 MVA, 400 kV). These transformers will be manufactured in Alstorn's facilities in Vadodara, India and in Stafford, United Kingdom.

Alstom T&D India is part of Alstom Grid, a global player in electrical grids. The company’s India operations account for over 13% of overall revenues garnered by Alstom Grid’s global operations. Apart from India business, other major contributors are the operations in France, the US, Germany and China
