Coal India reports production of 53.40 million tonnes in March 2014

Coal India, the world’s largest coal miner by output, has reported provisional production of 53.40 million tonnes in March 2014, as against target of 52.71 million tonnes. The company’s total off-take for the month of March stood at 44.80 million tonnes as against a target of 47.80 million tonnes.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
