The name of the company was further changed to Broadcast Initiatives with effect from May 18, 2006. The company is engaged in the business of broadcasting.

The company is a part of the Adhikari Brothers Television Network and was promoted by Gautam Adhikari and Markand Adhikari to carry on the business of news gathering, news syndication, content development production and content management for news based programmes.

The company launched the Hindi language 'Janmat' on November 14, 2005 as a news and views channel. The channel provides a platform to the common people to address issues that are detrimental to the society at large. Television personalities like Vir Sanghvi, Shekhar Suman, Alka Saxena, Rahul Dev, Harish Gupta, Umesh Upadhyay, Swati Chaturvedi, Shweta Ranjan, Mehar Bhasin are part of its team of anchors and journalists. Considering the language of the channel, the distribution activities have been concentrated more in the Northern, Western and Eastern India at the moment.

The company has a marketing and advertising team that brings advertisements to the channel. Broadcast Initiatives and STAR India have a new alliance for advertising sales.

Seeing a potential in retail/local advertisements coming in from strategic pockets in India, the company is in the process of appointing concessionaires to execute the same. The concessionaires are essentially established people from specific regions having good network, infrastructure and ability to tap the local markets.

In August 2007, Star India and the company formed a new alliance for advertising sales. The company operates the Hindi news channel, Live India. Under the terms of the agreement Star India will, with immediate effect, take over all advertising sales for Live India on a global exclusive basis.

In June 2007 the company announced that it is going to launch the world’s first Bhojpuri channel, in the fourth quarter of 2007. Most of the regional markets have at an average six to seven regional language channels and the company's foray into the Bhojpuri market will give that market its first regional language channel.

The company was subsidiary of Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network (SABTNL) by way of control of the board exercised by the management of SABTNL.
