The BSE Metal Index is a benchmark index to track the metal, metal products and mining sectors in India. The index constitutes of companies from the BSE 500 index and represents 90% of the average float-adjusted market capitalization (i.e. based on the number of shares in active circulation at any point of time) of the metals sector, with a minimum of at least 10 stocks provided other criteria are fulfilled.
