Tata Power's Coastal Gujarat Power generates 23,928 MUs in FY14

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, has generated 23,928 MUs at Coastal Gujarat Power (CGPL) and 6328 MUs at Maithon Power (MPL) in FY14. Both CGPL and MPL have increased their generation capacities in FY14 by 92% and 38% respectively as compared to FY13.

For the Quarter ended 31st March 2014, generation of CGPL increased from 6,039 MUs in Q4 FY13 as compared 6,800 MUs in Q4 FY14 whereas MPL generation capacity increased from 1,514 MUs in Q4 FY13 as compared to 1, 653 MUs in Q4 FY14. Both CGPL and MPL have increased their generation capacities in Q4 FY14 by 13% and 9% respectively.

Tata Power is India's largest integrated power company with a significant international presence. CGPL is the wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power and has successfully developed India's first operational 4000 MW Mundra UMPP currently catering to 2% of India's total power needs. MPL, the 74:26 Joint Venture between Tata Power and Damodar Valley Corporation has a total capacity of 1050 MW. It is the first successful public-private partnership in green field generation project in the country.
