Asahi India Glass trades higher on the BSE

Asahi India Glass is currently trading at Rs. 73.00, up by 1.15 points or 1.60% from its previous closing of Rs. 71.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 71.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 74.20 and Rs. 69.50 respectively. So far 18633 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 74.20 on 04-June-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 27.10 on 19-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 74.20 and Rs. 64.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1744.17 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 54.45% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.25% and 45.30% respectively.

Asahi India Glass has stopped production of float glass at its Taloja Plant, Raigad district in state of Maharashtra owing to age and expiry of useful / operating life of the furnace. Further, the company is in process of taking necessary steps for the purpose of closure of the float glass manufacturing unit at Taloja Plant.

Asahi India Glass is engaged in the manufacturing of glass and glass products for application in the automobile and construction sectors. The company operates under two strategic business units (SBUs), namely, AIS Auto Glass and AIS Float/Architectural Glass.
