NTPC has invited bids for construction of the 1,320-MW Khargone thermal project with an estimated cost of around Rs 7,000 crore. The bids have been sought for EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) package for the Khargone super thermal power plant coming up in Madhya Pradesh.
The scope of work comprises design, engineering, manufacture, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning works for the EPC package. Moreover, the state-run major will finance the EPC package for Khargone plant through External Commercial Borrowings (ECB) and own resources.
NTPC is the largest power generating company in the country. It has also diversified into hydro power, coal mining, power equipment manufacturing, oil & gas exploration, power trading & distribution.
