Asian Paints strengthens on hiking decorative paint price by 1.2%

Asian Paints is currently trading at Rs 535.50, up by 7.10 points or 1.34% from its previous closing of Rs 528.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 530.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 540.00 and Rs 524.00 respectively. So far 195267 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 565.00 on 15-May-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs 376.35 on 28-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 529.70 and Rs 503.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 51350.65 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.79% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.33% and 19.88% respectively.

Asian Paints has hiked decorative paint price by 1.2%. The company has raised the prices of decorative paints by Rs 6-10 litre per on account of rising input costs. Earlier, the company reported that it had hiked its industrial paint price by up to 4%. Thus, the latest hike marks company’s second price hike across range of products since start of new fiscal. Earlier, the company in the month of May hiked decorative paint prices by 1%. The move came in to offset inflationary pressure on industrial products.

The company along with its subsidiaries has operations in 20 countries across the world and 28 paint manufacturing facilities, servicing consumers in 65 countries through Berger International, SCIB Paints-Egypt, Asian Paints, Apco Coatings and Taubmans.
