Reliance Power gains on commissioning another 300-MW unit under Rosa project

Reliance Power is currently trading at Rs. 72.35, up by 0.10 points or 0.14% from its previous closing of Rs. 72.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 72.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 73.10 and Rs. 71.50 respectively. So far 795592 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 162.10 on 06-Jan-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 68.50 on 21-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 75.65 and Rs. 70.35 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 20238.99 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 80.42% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.16% and 13.40% respectively. 

Reliance Power, Anil Ambani group firm has commissioned another 300-MW unit under its Rosa project in Uttar Pradesh. After commissioning this unit company's total capacity reached to 900 MW. The company aims to have a total installed capacity of 5,000 MW by December, 2012, including thermal, gas and renewable energy.

In the Rosa 1,200-MW project, 900 MW has been commissioned at present, remaining 300 MW of the Rosa project is expected to be commissioned in March, 2012. Rosa project is the largest private sector investment in Uttar Pradesh with an investment outlay of over Rs 6,000 crore. The plant is likely to meet about 15% of Uttar Pradesh's power requirement. The company would have 5,000 MW of capacity installed by December, 2012.

The company’s net profit after tax for the quarter has zoomed 283.09% at Rs 108.76 crore as compared to Rs 28.39 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company’s total income has increased by 254.88% at Rs 203.77 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 57.42 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
