NTPC strengthens on commissioning 50 MW solar power project in Madhya Pradesh

NTPC is currently trading at Rs. 152.40, up by 1.05 points or 0.69% from its previous closing of Rs. 151.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 152.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 154.00 and Rs. 151.80 respectively. So far 137045 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 168.80 on 06-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 110.90 on 04-Mar-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 161.85 and Rs. 150.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 125949.47 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 22.27% and 2.73% respectively.

NTPC has commissioned 50 MW solar power project at Rajgarh in state of Madhya Pradesh, the biggest in the country using domestically manufactured modules. The plant, which was set up by Tata Power Solar for state-owned NTPC, will be used to supply electricity to about 90,000 households a year.

The photovoltaic project for NTPC was commissioned as part of its mandate to expand their renewable energy portfolio to 1,000 MW by 2017.

NTPC is the largest power generating company in the country. It has also diversified into hydro power, coal mining, power equipment manufacturing, oil & gas exploration, power trading & distribution.
