GAIL India, country's biggest gas transporter and marketer, has inked a 25-year contract with Russian gas major Gazprom for the supply liquefied natural gas (LNG). Back in 2012, both the companies had inked a 20 year LNG contract. Under the agreement GAIL was to receive 2.5 million tonnes of LNG per annum (equivalent to approximately 130 million mmbtu) from Gazprom’s Shtokman production facilities which has around 130 trillion cubic feet reserves.
GAIL is India's flagship natural gas company integrating all aspects of the natural gas value chain including exploration and production, processing, transmission, distribution and marketing and related services.
