Hero MotoCorp, the country’s largest two-wheeler maker, is planning to set up its sixth plant in South India. This new plant will help the company to cater to the domestic market and take its overall annual capacity to 12 million units. The decision to set up a new plant comes even while the company’s fourth and fifth plants at Neemrana in Rajasthan and Halol in Gujarat are yet to commence operations.

Meanwhile, the company is also planning to sell its bikes in US market from next year. The company had entered 18 global markets in the past one and half years and is sure of their range of motorbikes will get good response in US market.

Hero MotoCorp is the World’s single largest two-wheeler motorcycle company. Honda Motor Company of Japan and the Hero Group entered a joint venture to setup Hero Honda Motors in 1984. Hero Honda Motors changed its name to Hero MotoCorp following the exit of its erstwhile Japanese promoter, Honda, from the company.
