Tata Power's JV installs solar powered street lights at Maithon plant

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company’s joint venture (JV) with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), Maithon Power (MPL) has successfully installed special solar powered street lights in the areas adjoining the Maithon plant. More than 120 solar powered street lights have been installed till date near the railway line and in the peripheral villages of the plant.

The objective of this initiative is to reduce road accidents and snake bites in the village and to solve the problem of mobility at night. The location for installation was selected after careful assessment and joint survey by representatives of the villages, Panchayats Mukhyas and District Administration Officials.
