Maruti Suzuki reports 33.50% jump in June sales

Maruti Suzuki India, country’s largest car maker, has registered jump of 33.50% in its total car sales (Domestic + Export) for the month of June 2014 at 112773 units, as against 84,455 units in June 2013. The company’s domestic sales also rose by 31.1% in June 2014 at 100964 units, as against 77002 units in corresponding month last year.

Of the total, the company has sold 86223 units of its passenger cars during last month, up by 32.3% as against 65172 units in June 2013. The sales of its utility vehicles rose by 0.1% to 5003 units from 4997 units, while the company’s sales of vans increased by 42.50% to 9738 units as against 6833 units in June 2013. The company’s export sales jumped 58.4% to 11809 units as against 7453 units in June 2013.

Sales of compact cars were up 6.2% during the month at 22293 units as against 20996 units in the same month last year, while sales of mini segment cars rose by 52.1% to 47618 units in June as against 31314 units. Moreover, sales of super compact rose by 27.40% at 15990 units last month, as compared with 12548 units in June 2013. Besides, Mid-size sales registered growth of 2.5% at 322 units against 314 unit in the same month previous year.
