Hero MotoCorp is reportedly in talks with Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governments to set up a plant at an investment of around Rs 1,200 crore. The company was approached by the representatives of both Governments after it had last month announced its intent to set up a new plant in South India.

The company in June commenced production at its fourth plant at Neemrana, Rajasthan. It now has an installed annual capacity of 7.65 million two-wheelers.

Hero MotoCorp is the World’s single largest two-wheeler motorcycle company. Honda Motor Company of Japan and the Hero Group entered a joint venture to setup Hero Honda Motors in 1984. Hero Honda Motors changed its name to Hero MotoCorp following the exit of its erstwhile Japanese promoter, Honda, from the company.
