Sakthi Sugars redeems FCCBs worth $600,000

Sakthi Sugars has redeemed foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCBs) due 2011 (Series B) aggregating to $600,000 on December 22, 2011. Recently, the company had redeemed FCCBs due 2011 (Series B) aggregating to $5.0 million on September 29, 2011.

Sakthi Sugars is one of the largest producers of sugar in India with a capacity of over 13,500 tonnes of cane crushing per day. It has units / plants in the states of Tamil Nadu and Orissa. Its first unit, set up by the riverside of Bhavani, has outbeaten many records in performance like the 17 lakh tonnes of cane crush in 2001-02.
