CARE revises ratings of High Energy Batteries’ bank facilities

09 Jul 2014 Evaluate

Credit rating agency, CARE has revised rating of High Energy Batteries’ long term bank facilities worth Rs 25.15 crore to ‘BB’ from ‘BBB-’. The rating agency has also revised rating of company’s short term bank facilities worth Rs 45 lakh to ‘A4’ from ‘A3’.

The revision in ratings assigned to the bank facilities of High Energy Batteries (India) (HEBL) factors in the significant losses incurred by the company during FY14 (refers to the period April 1 to March 31) on account of higher losses posted by the lead acid battery division, resulting in weak financial profile marked by high leverage and working capital intensive nature of operations.

High Energy Batteries (India) is primarily engaged in the manufacture and sale of Aerospace, Naval and Power System Batteries (referred to High Energy Batteries (HEB) division) used in high-end defence and research applications like aircraft, torpedo, missiles and space launch vehicles.
