M&M reports 26% rise in auto sales numbers for December 2011

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has reported a rise of 26% in its auto sales numbers, which stood at 42,761 units during December 2011 as against 34,062 units during December 2010.

The company’s domestic sales stood at 39,891 units during December 2011, as against 32,546 units during December 2010, an increase of 23%.

The 4-wheeler commercial segment which includes the passenger and load categories has registered a growth of 35% at 13,757 units.

The company’s net profit after tax for the September quarter marginally declined by 2.78% of Rs 737.38 crore as compared to Rs 758.49 crore for September quarter of the year 2010. The company’s total income increased by 34.75% at Rs 7592.14 crore for Q2FY12 as compared to Rs 5634.13 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
