Ace investor acquires 2% stake in Jain Irrigation

The billionaire investor Shivanand Shankar Mankekar has bought 82 lakh shares or 1.86% stake in Jain Irrigation in the June quarter. Meanwhile, domestic institutional investors have increased their holding in the company to 14.71% from 13.43%, while foreign institutional investors hiked their holding marginally to 39.52% from 39.14%. However, retail investors reduced it to 17.08% in the June quarter from 18.74%

Recently, the company bagged two big integrated irrigation project orders from the Himachal Pradesh Government.

Jain Irrigation Systems is a manufacturer of a wide variety of PVC pipes, PE pipes, water and gas transportation pipes, ducts for optical fibre cables and drip irrigation pipes. It is also engaged in tissue culture of bananas and pomegranates and is the world’s largest processor of mangoes and is the world’s second largest processor of onions and vegetables.
