Jet Airways extends pact with GE Aviation by another five years

Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, has extended its agreement with GE Aviation by another five years for OnPointSM solution. GE Aviation’s OnPoint solutions are customised service agreements, tailored to the operational and financial needs of an airline for any size fleet.

The extension, valued at more than $200 million, ensures GE will provide the maintenance, repair and overhaul of 22 GE90 engines that power the Jet Airways Boeing 777 300ER aircraft, till 2022.

Besides, the Mumbai headquartered airline has also signed an agreement with the company for a thrust bump on its entire GE90 fleet of 22 engines, GE Aviation said in the release.

Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 112 aircraft, which include 10 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, 8 Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 4 Airbus A330-300 aircraft, 72 next generations Boeing 737-700/800/900/900 ER aircraft and 15 ATR 72-500 and 3 ATR72-600.
