Maruti Suzuki reports 21.70% jump in July sales

Maruti Suzuki India, country’s largest car maker, has registered jump of 21.7% in its total car sales (Domestic + Export) for the month of July 2014 at 101380 units, as against 83299 units in July 2013. The company’s domestic sales also rose by 19.9% in July 2014 at 90093 units, as against 75145 units in corresponding month last year.

Of the total, the company has sold 72782 units of its passenger cars during last month, up by 15.5% as against 63040 units in July 2013. The sales of its utility vehicles rose by 23.4% to 5631 units from 4562 units, while the company’s sales of vans increased by 54.8% to 11680 units as against 7543 units in July 2013. The company’s export sales jumped 38.4% to 11287 units as against 8154 units in July 2013.

Sales of compact cars were up 81.2% during the month at 25156 units as against 13882 units in the same month last year, however sales of mini segment cars declined by 14.4% to 28759 units in July as against 33587 units. Meanwhile, sales of super compact rose by 22.2% at 18634 units last month, as compared with 15249 units in July 2013. However, Mid-size sales dropped 27.6% at 233 units against 322 units in the same month previous year.
