Corporation Bank, public sector lender has opened its new zonal office at Varanasi in state of Uttar Pradesh. The bank has taken this step with an objective of having focused expansion in eastern part of state. The bank has now 33 zonal offices across India.
Varanasi zone consists of 22 branches in the eastern UP covering districts of Allahabad, Ambedkarnagar, Azamgarh, Basti, Chandauli, Deoria, Ghazipur, Gorkhpur, Jaunpur, Maunath Bhanjan, Mirzapur, Pratapgarh, Sant Kabirnagar, Sant Ravidasnagar, Sultanpur and Varanasi.
Corporation Bank is a Mangalore-based mid-sized public sector bank which was established in 1906. Government of India is the majority shareholder holding 59.82% stake in the bank. Across India, the bank has a network of over 9,000 functional units including 2,075 branches, 2,662 ATMs and so on.
