Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has reported results for first quarter ended June 30, 2014.
The company’s net profit has surged by 11.19% at Rs 1282.79 crore as compared to Rs 1153.66 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2013. The company’s total income has increased by 17.62% to Rs 4706.70 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 4001.38 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
