Manganese ore producer, MOIL, has received an approval for project of sinking of 2nd (New) Vertical Shaft having 160 meters Depth & 4.50 meters diameter with a cost of Rs 51.32 crore at the company’s Munsar Mine. The board of directors at its meeting held on August 12, 2014 has approved for the same.
The project is expected to complete in 4 years from the day of award of work and the production will start from 5th year and gradually touch additional 96000 MT per annum from this shaft.
MOIL is the largest iron ore company in India and fifth largest in world. It currently operates seven underground mines (Kandri, Munsar, Beldongri, Gumgaon, Chikla, Balaghat and Ukwa mines) and three opencast mines (Dongri Buzurg, Sitapatore/Sukli, and Tirodi). The company is actively involved in exploration and development activities with a view to increase its proven manganese ore reserves.
